They are all still there, the old leather-bound books, the winding staircase and the venerable coffered ceiling of the library that once belonged to Foundation Thiers students, as is the muted, typically British atmosphere. But there is something else, something modern.
Laura Gonzalez has preserved the iconic elements of the décor—wood panelling, cosy velvets and time-worn leathers–but has softened the edges with a gentle touch. The bar counter stands out against a background of omnipresent greenery while patterns and prints blend seamlessly into the decor, from thick Iranian-patterned rugs to Indian cashmeres. It is the ideal setting for a quick lunch or a personalised cocktail, shaken to perfection by the master mixologists of the Saint James.
In summer, a second bar is set under the graceful pergola in the garden and cocktails are shaken al fresco!
Every weekend, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., we invite you to enjoy an exceptional Tea Time, created by our Pastry Chef Coline Doussin. This indulgent experience features a refined selection of sweet and savory creations, accompanied by a selection of beverages. Discover classics reimagined with originality and elegance: a lobster roll, served with a pre-dessert featuring grapes and Tasmanian berries; a vacherin with black berries and garden lemon balm; a mille-feuille with Tahitian vanilla and pecan praline; a religieuse with Solliès figs, fig leaves, and raspberries; a brioche with cacao and chocolate caramel to share; or a coffee-flavored dessert.
